Visibility Thursday

I received an invitation from Robin Stržínek at VISIBILITY DIGITAL to speak at their regular Visi Thursday event. I had the opportunity to share my experience with the practical applications of connecting GA4 with Google BigQuery and other Google Cloud Platform services.
I prepared roughly an hour-long talk for the event. We focused primarily on why and how to get company data from GA4, CRM systems, and media platforms into BigQuery, how to connect it all together, and what business and marketing opportunities this creates (spoiler: significant ones).
For example, we looked at:
✅ How BigQuery helps keep your data organized in one place, giving your company a single source of truth.
✅ How much it costs to run BigQuery and a server-side GTM setup on a mid-sized project (spoiler: not much).
✅ How to upload audiences and conversions from BigQuery directly into ad platforms, enabling you to target audiences from your CRM, for instance.
This was followed by real-world client use cases:
✅ How IKEA evaluates search campaign performance not only in terms of e-shop sales but also in-store purchases by linking customer identity data.
✅ How Shoptet evaluates acquisition beyond the lead stage, all the way through to the acquired customer.
✅ How McDonald's measures its platforms using a combination of traditional and cookieless measurement, achieving significantly more accurate traffic data than is common today.
✅ Why Česká spořitelna transitioned to its own event-based measurement using Google Cloud technologies - without the GA4 black box - and what advantages this brings.

I really enjoyed the event. It was great to see Anna Horáková, Martin Neuschl, Michal Nováček, Tom Richter, Veronika Šindelář Šoltésová and Roman Appeltauer along with part of the Signals s.r.o. team - we ended up wrapping up the evening at Piggies 🥂. Thanks once again to Petr Barot, Robin Stržínek and Visibility DIGITAL for the invitation and organization.
